Right, but in this case it's because they deduct the miles at actual ticketing rather than at booking.
I'm over being exasperated at this kind of thing, but the insane difficulties involved in (a) making sure the correct upgrade(s) are deducted and (b) making things right when mistakes are made are simply unacceptable.
