I'm usually able to get around the 24 hour requirement from most chains if I'm using either a corp rate or aaa/aarp rate. Not always and I can't decipher which chains require 24 hours on those rates as well, but many don't. Seems like it's more of a hotel specific rule than a chain specific rule.
