Yes, i can verify that AMEX cards will not earn points. I have tried SPG and HH. I now use Chase and they do issue points. No fees for AMEX or CHASE. If you want to help meet minimum spend on AMEX, Serve will NOT count!
Interesting. Not that one should expect 'real' AMEX cards to behave like Citi AMEX, but, I can say that purchases at Serve does qualify for AAdvantage miles using the Citi AA AMEX. I used to use Serve all the time to help me hit the monthly extra 750 miles for spending $750 retention bonus.
Kind of thought I had used SPG, but, alas I look at my serve account, and I've never in fact added the SPG card to it -- thanks for the warning.
