Any thoughts?
QF is on the Airbus A332 w/ angled lie-flat seats
AA on the 762 w/ recliner seats.
I always prefer the lie flat seats but it is a day flight, so the 762 recliner will be fine.
QF has in seat IFE which I think is far superior to the AA Samsung tablets on the 762 in terms of selection and convenience (Samsung Tablet is cumbersome, you have to deal with cables and the tablet takes away workable space). Image might be more crisp and colorful on the AA Samsung tablet but not a winning factor, IMO.
I do not know how the food service on QF compares to AA for that segment. But I know that the QF FAs are very professional and friendly. The AA ones? Russian roulette!
Coincidentally, a friend and I arrived in LAX from Sydney today. After clearing immigration and customs at TBIT I went to T4 to catch my AA SAN flight, he went back to TBIT to catch the QF108.
Security at T4 @ 6:30AM was BAD BAD BAD. The priority access line was a joke (one X-ray machine). It took me close to 30 mins to clear security at T4. I made a very short visit to the First Lounge but then I had to run to catch the SAN Flight.
On the other hand, my friend that was continuing on QF108 took 5 mins to clear security at TBIT and had plenty of time to relax/ take a shower/ eat at the not so nice, but adequate OneWorld lounge @ TBIT.
I would take QF108 if going to JFK (great seat, short security lines @ TBIT, consistent FAs, good IFE, less stressful)
