If time isn't a issue, what about just getting the coach onward from VCS to Gatwick? Think there's still one every hour, calling at both terminals (used to catch it on occasion as it stopped just round the corner from where I lived in Stockwell...)
Thanks! We were aware that there are National Express coaches to LGW but hadn't looked at them more closely. Certainly worth considering if the timings are right, but we would still want them to meet up in London and make the journey to LGW together, either by coach or by train depending on what works best.
Taking the train to Euston (as others have suggested) is another option we might consider, though we favour the coach as it's more direct - just the one change at Victoria, as opposed to having to get across London by public transport or taxi.
