I'd like to cancel the 15 year old AmEx card, but in doing so, will that trigger AmEx to clamp down on the card I do use, or are there any other adverse consequences? I had such negative experiences with AmEx that I don't trust the company one bit.

Thanks.
Just a heads-up that cancelling a card that's been "positive" for 15+ years might actually have a detrimental effect on your score - Amex or not.
