Be aware though that often the plug will be US style but meant for two prongs not 3. I'm sure it won't be an issue at a reputable hotel but in private homes you will likely run into this problem. Inexpensive adapters are sold in the Philippines to convert three prong to two prong and have a grounding wire. I don't know if I'd trust any expensive electronics to such adapters though....
