Consequences of canceling one AmEx but not another?

In checking my credit report, I discovered that I have an ancient AmEx card, which I got probably around 15 years ago and haven't used in about 10 years, if not more. I want to cancel it.

I also have an AmEx card that I use heavily--so heavily that I had to submit investment account statements to support my level of spending.

I'd like to cancel the 15 year old AmEx card, but in doing so, will that trigger AmEx to clamp down on the card I do use, or are there any other adverse consequences? I had such negative experiences with AmEx that I don't trust the company one bit.

Thanks.
