I usually split my time between Oahu and one other island - 25% on Oahu, 75% on the other island. And I usually go to Oahu first. I agree with the previous posters suggestion - 2 nights Oahu, 5 nights Hawaii.

Can you extend your stay? 3 nights Oahu + 5 nights Hawaii? For a first visit, 3 nights in Oahu and 5 nights in Hawaii seems like the minimum I would do. Anywhere from 8 to 10 nights between 2 islands would be ideal for me. Just my thoughts...
