CX / KA implements a Married Segment Control (MSC) policy in that connecting FLTs must be booked together, not separately. Therefore, OP cannot have JFK-HKG confirmed without having HKG-PNH also confirmed, unless the OP has a stopover (>24 hours) in HKG (which woule result in a TKT change with fees). In addition, I was under the impression that OP already bought the TKT but simply does not have some of the segments confirmed by CX (even though Expedia thought that those segments were confirmed)?
Thank you for that info. I did not know about the MSC. Perhaps that explains why CX can have a flight listed on Expert Flyer as F5 with one combination of connections and F3 with another combination (same flight same day). That was really confusing me! So they even allocate availability based on pairs as well then?
