At the time I made that reply, it wasn't entirely clear what people were looking at, and it was important that people understood the difference between the RFID "chipped" cards and the others. Especially since the folk on the phone lines at the credit card companies don't always know the difference. I ended up with my RFID card because I had read about another bank beginning to issue them so I called Chase, and the rep told me my timing was wonderful because they were coming out with that type of card the following day and it wouldn't cost anything to send me one. I asked her if this was a "Euro-style" card and she assured me it was. Foolish me, I felt like I'd had a pleasant and productive conversation with a very capable person.
