Just bought my SIN ticket using a 15% off cert. To get the dates I wanted, I booked going to/from ONT instead of LAX. Since I have relatives that live close to ONT, no worries. (and an extra 1K status miles to boot!). My itinerary on UA is as follows:

UA 6347 ONT-LAX 0935A 1005A 1/15 4B
UA 891 LAX-NRT 1115A 0355P 1/15 15A
UA 801 NRT-SIN 0530P 1155P 1/16 Waitlist
UA 800 SIN-NRT 0720A 0250P 1/19 13B
UA 890 NRT-LAX 0425P 0855A 1/19 15A
UA 6348 LAX-ONT 1045A 1119A 1/19 4B

Priced at $617.43 after 15% discount. ($711.43 before discount). What was interesting was I couldn't get the 1/15/04 outbound from LAX but from ONT going through LAX it was available. All jet sectors upgraded except NRT-SIN.

Put me down as confirmed & am looking forward to meeting everyone in SIN.
