If the content firewall they run is any good then it will be able to block that kind of stuff too, plus any proxy traffic will get banned as well. These proxies are there for a purpose. And as the OP said, FT isn't really needed for work (a few trips). Corporate Internet access is far too often used for personal use, so for many emplyers it's only logical they block it. I'm sure many 100's of people post from work every day here.
