I had this dilemma recently. AC via YYZ or UA via ORD. Having never done the latter, I was concerned.

I needn't have been. ORD is no spring chicken but the food choices are way better, and reasonably priced. And then there's the added benefit of not having to deal with CBSA till I got to YOW= winner. YOW CBSA > than YYZ CBSA any day of the year.

Besides, YYZ T1 international pier is awful - Tim Hos and one sit down restaurant (with an express stand separately). It's a national embarrassment.

As to AC, I would rank it as a safe airline with good IFE and awful Y catering. Can't complain about the crew, but unloading the aircraft often takes forever, especially at Yul and YYZ. On a bang-for-buck basis, I would rate it very low.
