My wife and I converted all of ours to no-fee Cash Rewards cards. 1% cash back right away plus another 0.5% on the card's anniversary. Sounds like a pretty good card, although it doesn't seem to have any bonus categories like some other cards. 1.5% cash back for a no-fee card is pretty decent these days. They would not waive the fee on the Venture card for the 2nd year and they offered no retention bonus. The conversion was our only option other than cancelling. Keeping the credit history is obviously preferred over cancelling three cards.
