I think it might just be a MVCI standard. We are currently staying at Surfwatch, and there is now a newspaper rack by the elevators on the first level of each building. There is a sign on the rack that says that as of mid-January (it includes an exact date, but I can't remember what it is at the moment), newspapers will no longer be delivered to your front door. Oh well, I guess that is better than having to go all the way over to reception to pick up one.
