FWIW, the "changes" actually almost certainly increased your balance rather than decreasing it. Previously your balance only reflected butt-in-seat miles on UA metal. The updates added class of service bonuses, DEQM/TEQM bonuses, partner EQMs and any other EQMs you might have earnt over the years to your account as a one-time adjustment.
And now we're back to BIS-only.
