If people will pay it, QF will charge it. On a one way to PVG QF only has 1 J fare offered. round trip fare in I class is about $1000 cheaper ( base ) than the J one way

I take it you bought with another carrier?

There was a thread a number of months back when EY (?) had codeshare with QF and there was a poster that was mad enough to pay the extra thousands to go on the QF flight number rather than the EY one
