I rode 1D on an LHR-IAH leg and had no issues. The seat does have the larger footwells by virtue of being a bulkhead. It's angled away from the lav slightly, so unless you're really trying you won't really notice the foot traffic. I highly recommend it for a westbound day flight, actually; the lack of a window on your left means there's no possibility of someone's shade being up and affecting your ability to view your AVOD screen.
If you are a light sleeper it might not be the best place for you, but otherwise it's just as good as any other seat in the forward BF cabin.

It's also a great seat (vs 2nd cabin) if you're flying somewhere where they usually disembark through 1L (like DEL). In the case of DEL, the wait at Immigration is painfully slow, and getting off the plane early can make a huge difference getting out of the airport quickly.

Seatguru sucks for picking F/C seats, IMO. They're usually all green. I think they are comparing with Y.

Luckily 5E opened up and I grabbed that; it's the back of the first cabin.
You guys like the second cabin better?? That never fills up until the last minute upgrades clear.
