OK - thanks for the reply. Looking at it from an outsider's point of view I can see that I'm probably being unrealistic in expecting BA to believe me.

Have I got any hope of getting any sort of refund? And if so, is there ANY way of getting it other than going through customer relations? It's just frustrating that I've paid for this flight that I won't be on. I presume that even though it's booked and paid for, if I'm not actually on the flight then I won't be awarded the air miles, is that correct? Because I think the air miles the flight would earn would be worth more to me than the amount I may be able to get refunded once an admin fee and any other costs are taken from the cash value of the flight.
