Can someone help me understand?
Just tell the agent you want to book a round trip from RIC to BOM with a stopover in PEK on the way back. Sometimes you have to spell it out to them. It's best to find the routing that has the availability and just spoon feed them the flight numbers, as dubious as they might be at first. Just make sure you go across the same ocean both ways to avoid a RTW routing.
