A round trip is AAA-BBB-AAA (with connection airports) You can be in BBB as long as the fare rules allow -- BBB is the destination airport.
A stopover is an additional point where you stay longer than a certain period of time (internationally this is usually 24 hours).
So AAA-BBB(destination)-CCC(>24 hour stopover)-AAA is a valid routing.
Note in this case BBB or CCC can be considered the destination and the other is the stopover.
But as mentioned earlier do not do a RTW. You need to return in similar direction that you came from.
it has been taking minutes and mileage transfers can presently be done.
Tried last night calling UA to book a round trip RIC-BOM(stop)-PEK(Stop)-RIC, the agent keeps telling me I can't go from BOM to PEK, cause it is backtrack, can't be used, but we can get a open jaw from Dehli to Pek instead. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but she was ready to transfer me to a superviser, and I chickened out and politely hang up on her....
Can someone help me understand?
