No option to upgrade in MMB so rang the BAEC Gold Line, very pleasant lady said yes let me check availability, came back 30 secs later to say yes there is availability both ways, extra £140 in taxes and 40k Avios.

Not bad as I only booked last night and now have return CW flights (and a car) for under £2k and 40k miles.

Who says there is never availability at short notice?

Oh and this flight edges me closer to my GUFT which I would like to try and use to get to Oz and back next year, subject to availabilty of course!
