Transfer/Merge Question Regarding Delta Amex

Hello all and thanks for taking the time to read this.

So a little lead in, I've just accepted a position where I will be travelling at least 3-4 days a week. My wife currently has a Delta Platinum Amex due to her having flown a bit previously (we wanted to open one to accrue mileage on our spend, but decided since she was flying some for work that we obviously needed to put it in her name).

Of course, the problem now is, we've worked on growing our credit limit and don't really want to close the card and potentially effect our credit/lose our credit limit we've worked toward, but I would like to get the Delta Reserve if I'm going to be travelling that much.

So my question is (and forgive me if this is stupid), but has anyone been in a situation like this and had Amex merge the two cards into one account and allow you to keep the credit limit/aged account?

We're not against keeping the Platinum and having a Reserve to give us both a card, however we generally reach about 60k in spend a year on the Platinum with both of us charging to it, and my new employer currently doesn't allow employees to carry charges on their personal cards, so ideally we would have one account again with the Reserve in my name, a second card for her, and the account age/history as well as the credit limit merged into the new account.

Again, I'm fairly ignorant regarding this so I apologize if this is an obvious no.

Thanks again!
