Welcome to FT, camhabib! And no need to apologize for being new as we all were at one time or another.

Since you'd posted in the Mileage Run Discussion forum and it's really meant more for topics realting to earning more miles with interesting routings, etc. I'll move your more general query about combining hotel points and frequent flyer miles over to a better venue for such matter, the MilesBuzz forum where the good posters can help with suggestions.
