I searched this forum but couldn't find a direct answer and from what I am getting from United and the preveiw site I wanted to confirm...

I made a flight reservation in Nov 2011 on UA.com (SNA - OGG) and used miles to upgrade, no co-pay required. Unfortunately I was put on a waiting list. After 3/3, do I have to re-request my award miles upgrade or will that carry over?

From what I reading is that I may have to re-request.
