Seriously, I'd guess platform to platform, exclusive of waiting to buy tickets and clearing security, is closer to 10 minutes, if you know where you are going.
Ya, more like five to ten minutes, and not much fun in rain.
And it's not obvious which way to go from MRT, so check Google maps to see which exit you want. Hopefully they will add signs.
