To revive a dormant thread:

I'm staying at the Aloft Brooklyn later this week and was curious as to how safe the immediate neighborhood is? I might be out late (1/2am) some nights and will be taking the subway. Anyone have any thoughts on if walking from the nearest subway stations should be safe at that time of the day or if I would be better off taking a cab?
