I haven't heard of it, but I don't think there's any need to do that, just use your IB (oneworld) status for seat selections, lounge access etc, but start crediting your Avios and TP's to BAEC from now on so you get to the same result by next year.

Also, it's not all bad, in fact I recently joined IB plus for the sole reason of getting 750 Avios per hilton booking instead of 500 through BAEC.
