Many times the delay in receiving info could be a result of the airline waiting to the last minute to inform paxs. Three weeks ago I was at EWR and it was about 20 min prior to departure and the GA finally informed us that our aircraft had mtc issues and was still on the ground in PHL. They should have known at that point there would be a delay but instead they wait and wait to post a new departure time.
In the case of CO 4463 my children were on there was never any notification beside the boiler plate one I quoted above, not on my email, via text, nor on co.com.
