You are free to send your money wherever you like, but doing so on the basis of you not understanding what your options really are and criticizing the airline on the basis of incomplete understanding... well.
On the iPhone, there is a Swiss iPhone app. You can do online checkin and chose "mobile boarding pass", enter your phone number, and then you have the boarding pass with its scanner bar code in that app. The data is sent as an SMS (so no internet connection needed, just phone), and is then stored offline in the app (so no connection needed whatever at the momebt of presenting BP). Also, the app has very detailed seat maps showing which seat is emergency exit, has blocked seatbacks, etc.
Maybe worth a try.
