You should be able to get your Signup bonus. What I usually do is call to "Cancel" and let them offer me a "Free Card". If you call and say "I want to cancel my card" they will ask you why. if you tell them the fees are too high they will try to convince you how "good their cards are" and tell you about all the benefits. If you keep telling them that you don't want to pay, they will eventually offer a No Fee or Low Fee card, ask them what the signup bonus is at that time.

Here's another tip with CIBC, call every 6 months to increase your Credit Limit whether you need it or not. High limits are very good for your credit score (as long as you don't use all of the available credit). when you call they'll ask why you need a higher limit, just say Home Reno or planning a vacation.
