I had the cibc infinite card and then got the Amex gold. It is my go to card now. I am going to cancel the cibc infinite as the earning potential on it is far below the gold Amex. If you travel a lot ten u should be using the gold for hotels, etc as u get a 2:1 earning ratio.

My advice, chuck the visa, get a low fee cibc aeroplan visa with a 1;2 warning ratio for when Amex isn't accepted. The gold also has better purchase protection.
