Completely agree with this. I would take a flight much earlier in the day that would allow for any possible mis-adventure. Any single flight can be canceled for any reason. If you really need to be somewhere the next morning, I would leave some room for "entropy".

As for a winter storm, watch the forecasts, and if a whopper blizzard is predicted, get out of town before it hits.
