Odds of DTW Winter Flight Cancellation?

Hello,

Random Question. Next winter, my niece is having a Sunday wedding near FLL, and I am trying to find the best flight from DTW. The wedding starts at noon, so I have decided to fly down the day before (Saturday). Currently the 7:30pm departing direct flight (last one of the night) is significantly cheaper than any other earlier flight.

Basically, what are the chances that a random 7:30pm flight in the winter would be cancelled all together from DTW? I don't care if it is delayed, as long as I get there at some point before noon the next day. I know my chances are slim of getting there should that flight get cancelled, so I am trying to determine if it is really worth spending the extra $$$ to fly an earlier flight.

To provide more information, the 7:30pm is a direct flight on a 757. I don't have any medallion status, and would be joined by my wife and kids. If anyone could provide some ballpark odds, suggestions, or other past experience, it would be greatly appreciated. Again, just trying to gauge my odds on this. Thanks!
