I'm somewhat convince they don't. At least on experian, I did app, credit pull, app, credit pull, all in the course of 5 minutes.
All the application hard inquires immediately showed in the corresponding credit pull minutes later.
App-o-rama does NOT make sense from the perspective of credit card companies not seeing others' hard pulls because they do, but AORs make sense from the perspective of the fact new opened CC accounts temporary dropping your credit scores for about 3 months. But to avoid the negative effect on new applications of new accounts dropping your credit score you don't really need to have all your applications on the same day - just close enough so that by the time of your last application the account opened from your first application doesn't yet show up on the report (and you should note that at least with Barclays the account shows on you credit report about 1 business days after being opened - NOT after the first statement closes)
