ti1 experience
I recently booked using ti1 for a full size SUV @SFO. I needed a 4wd SUV and the counter rep used it against me (worst thing to do is to tell the rep what you need at any car rental place - they surely will make sure to fulfill you needs at the highest cost). The Alamo rep purposely gave me a 2wd SUV even though he promised a 4wd at the counter and they have 4wd available. When I went back and confronted him, he said theyre losing money on my rental because of the free gas and insurance for my reservation...he wanted to charge me additional $50/day to get a 4wd. I told him to take out the free gas and insurance (all I wanted was the great price and 4wd) but he said the system didn't allow him to make such changes. I was standing at the counter for 20 minutes while he tried everything to jack up my price. All he could do was to "upgrade" me to charge more. Anyway, what I want to say is if you are not picky about the car features (ie 2 vs 4wd) then this is great. If you are in the same situation like me you better have a backup reservation with any car rental company (which i did and rented with another company). I am actually quite pissed at Alamo cas if i didnt look at the car carefully myself I would have driven it off the lot thinking it is a 4wd. I used ti1 in Oct 2011 @LAX and it went smoothly. I did not like SFO cas you can't pick ur own car. any feedback of how i can do better next time?
