Someone needs to explain to lillianfels what platinum benefits should be bestowed to plat members
i called today and the guy on reception didnt even know what I was referring to when I asked what could I expect as a platinum spg in upgrades
he asked did I mean what would it cost to upgrade.
when I explained what i meant they said one class upgrade only
so deluxe gets valley view
buy valley view get suite
I am not aware of any one class upgrades for plat.
I booked to stay on saturday night. the rate was $535 on the spg website ( outrageous price for small base room)and 365 on other websites. as I am plat I decided to use points as I would not have gotten an upgrade if buying on other website.
arrived to be given the room i booked( basic deluxe which was tiny and not up to par)
I understand they were romancing Qantas people on saturday night so were booked out.
maybe they should look after their platinum members not free or discount rate stayers( yes I paid 12k points which takes a lot of stays to earn!)
this is not a luxury property
went to dinner
the food was not good and others at other tables were even sending back french onion soup!
these people had better get their act together and maybe someone from spg needs to get up there and teach them how to be part of a group.
I wont go back and wont recommend at all.
