I agree with you on the other card, and will take a look at the one you mentioned..
Try giving them a call and see if they would be willing to convert. If they don't, definitely don't close the no AF card. I'd keep it open just for credit score purposes.

Just make sure you are getting enough benefit out of it to justify the annual fee. Most likely if they do convert the card you will not get a bonus and you will probably have an AF your first year. That's why it may be better to go for a different card if you're actively looking for a rewards card. That way you would get the signup bonus and annual fee waived for at least one year. Also check out the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, it gives a 7% bonus at the end of each year which might help offset the annual fee cost.
