If I had enough employees flying around all the time that enough SkyBonus points were earned for tickets, yeah, you bet I'd be using those SkyBonus points for my employees' business travel. The company's bottom line is more important than the employee's MQM balance, period. I'd love to see what would happen if an employee walked into their boss' office and complained that they were flown on a non-rev ticket, and therefore didn't get any miles.

Not sure why the travel agent should have to tell you up front, either. What are you going to do, walk into your boss' office and demand that you be placed on a paid fare so you can earn your miles? Or would it just be for the purposes of complaining to your co-workers?

The sense of entitlement displayed by the quoted post is astounding. If a company chooses to use the methods of lowering its travel expenses available to it, that's their prerogative. Once employees start paying for their own travel and not being reimbursed, then they can pick whatever airline they want and pay for it however they choose to.
