Well clearly it's a bad business decision. Your employer should not use these tickets because the reason they fly you is so that you can earn FF miles. (Sarcasm intended)

Of course you probably also expect things like raises, benefits etc...

Your employer (and most employers) will do what they have to do to make money. Spending MORE on airfare so we can earn miles isn't really the way business works (although Delta loves it!)
