Thinking of booking ORD-LHR-ATH. I can only find AA metal awards on the morning flight to LHR putting me in at 10pm. BA has a 630am to ATH.

Do you think bags will go through or will I have to collect and recheck at LHR. If so will BA hit me up for more baggage fees. Any issues with spending those 8 hours inside LHR. US citizen.

Besides MAD, I can not think of any other 1 stop AA awards to ATH from ORD. Am I missing any?
