Sure you have your own tastes you are familiar with and grow up with and enjoy, but after traveling around so much, my opinion is, food in Japan tastes better. . . .
I completely disagree with this generalization. There is a lot of awful food in Japan.
Japan also imports huge amounts of food from around the world, so in many cases foods purchased in Japan are identical to foods purhased in other countries.
If one knows where to go, the Japanese cuisine in Japan is the best in the world. This is what one would expect, and the same is true for French food in France, Italian food in Italy, or Thai food in Thailand.
