When I checked in for my LH flight the agent at check-in at JFK told me I had to be rebooked because of a strike in Frankfurt with forced re-routing via MUC but not only that. Yhere was also an equipment change for LH405 from a Airbus 340-600 to a Airbus 340-300 with much less seats.

I lost my original first row of Economy window seat in the deal and was put in a center seat further down in the second cabin by LH reservations. My direct flight to NCE from FRA was cancelled so they put me through MUC.

I spent a number of hours in the B Senator lounge in Frankfurt and had to do the same in MUC waiting for the flight to NCE a small Embraer that was also very full.

The LH405 Economy cabin crew was limit nasty. They moved passengers around randomly - some poor passenger did not want to sit next to her friend after they had an argument so two passengers got moved from row 33 (window seat side) and the girl ended up having the two window seats to herself.

She did not look like a "status-ed" flyer at all as before landing she kept her suitcase standing and strapped in the window seat and thought she was going to be able to keep it like that at landing.

When the two persons got moved and I saw the empty window seat I asked to speak to the purser. I asked him if I could get moved to the empty window seat. His answer was an unquestionable Niet He said I had to stay in the seat that was given to me at check-in.

Passengers being Star Gold or Mr/Mrs Tourist makes no difference to cabin crew at all. The purser and service crew in my row were awful all through the flight looking at me as if I was E.T.

Having to deal with flight changes and then having to walk through the whole Frankfurt airport from B to A side via the tunnel and then the same thing again at MUC from one end of the airport to the other was a total bummer.

I had broken the trip at JFK with a one night stay as I was in from the NH direct flight from NRT the day before. The SIN-NRT with Air Nippon and the NH direct flight from NRT went like a breeze with the wonderful NH cabin crew.

It was all bad luck from JFK on with the LH flights.

I think next time I will fly with Singapore Airlines on the FRA-JFK-FRA route. There will be much less risk of bad treatment from the cabin crew.
