United never has flown into Kaohsiung. The Kaohsiung ticket office just functioned as a general ticket office - whether the flights were originating/terminating in Taipei or elsewhere.
(Also, pretty sure the Bangkok office is still open on Silom)
Bangkok is very much open. It's more than a ticketing/reservations office; it is a sales office for SE Asia. The office is run/staffed by a General Sales Agent company "
Air Transport Services"; i.e. they are not true United employees.
