I've been in a number of hotels with this, all in Europe IIRC. Some have the bathroom door do double duty to accomplish it.

Noise (slamming doors) is my biggest peeve, but mitigated by silicone earplugs ($5 at the drugstore). Of course, should the hotel catch fire I'm toast
