Flying IST-CAI with RJ via over night lay over in AMM, do they give out free hotel vouchers even with short flights? I read some trip report that custom will keep your passport during the transit.....is this true? With my longer layover, we plan to rent a car to Petra. Is it possible to get the hotel voucher and still keep passport to rent the car?
I have no idea about how they handle regional connections, but it would seem extraordinary if they give you a hotel. But this is RJ, so ...
Keeping the passport is the quid pro quo of being allowed entry without a visa.
Depending on your nationality, you should be able to get a visa for cash on arrival, then you'd be able to make any arrangements you wish.
