I go to another large hospital and the office visit is $15 !

Look around , go on Thai Visa (thaivisa.com) forum and ask questions from people who live and work in Bangkok.

Bumrumgrad smells like a hospital...

Bangkok Hospital International Medial Centre on the other hand....

It has a pianist in the lobby playing live music. Looks and feels like a 5 star hotel. Doesn't smell like a hospital. Similar pricing to Bumrumgrad but much more modern. Publicly traded company. Branches in Samui, Pattaya, Phuket and Hua Hin.

No McDonald's on site but there's an S&P, Starbucks, Au bon Pain, 7-11

My favorites after having tried the "Big 3" are BKK Hospital and BNH.

Bumrumgrad somehow never did it for me

Full disclosure: BGH shareholder. Chivawattana member.

Oh.. That brings me to another point: If you are planning to do annual check-ups in Bangkok, you may want to consider Chivawattana membership.

It's marketed by the big 3. BNH, Samitivej and BKK Hospital Medical Center.

You basically buy a 3 year membership and then you get free stuff and discounts. The top tier for example costs around THB 30,000 but you get 3 check-ups which would retail about 30k baht as well... And most benefits are transferable to friends / family. And you get free x-rays, dental discounts, massive discounts for in-patient etc.

Benefits work across the three hospital groups. BNH, BKK, Samitivej.
