Go for the renovations; stay for the service @ the regency club

I've stayed at this property almost every week since July 2011 (excl. Jan). Currently on a 10-night stay here. Extremely happy at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis.

The Hyatt Regency has done a remarkable job of amping up the rooms. Very pleased. The rennovations have taken a $150/night property and made it feel more like a $250 property. Can't wait to see the new lobby.

But I must say: no matter the upgrades/amenities/rooms, what really makes this property stand out is the REMARKABLE level of service in the Regency Club. If you have the opportunity, stay at this property for no other reason than for 30 minutes each evening at the club.

Kirk, a remarkable man who manages the Regency Club each night, is bar none THE most personable, attentive, and downright welcoming club manager that I have ever met. He doesn't miss a beat, and his level of service doesn't just apply to the "frequent customers" like me.

Each night, I watch as Kirk doesn't just give restaurant recommendations to new guests; he calls in personal favors to score hard-to-get reservations at top area restaurants.

Each night, I watch as Kirk doesn't just ask new guests where they're from; he knows more about their hometowns than they do and talks about topics that are important to them.

Each night, I watch as Kirk introduces all guests (new and regular) to each other by name, creating connections among those who want to connect and quietly assisting those be who want to be ‘left be.’

This property will move forward considerably with it's recent renovation; but the level of service each night at the Regency Club will remain UNMATCHED. ANYWHERE.
