Well you should have been flying SAA a few years back like me and you'd know all about equipment changes

One week, I went from a 744, to a 346 to a 342 in the space of 6 days. SAA were notorious for equipment changes and in the end I just accepted it as a fact of life and didn't get chewed up about it. Bearing in mind I was tracking these changes and changing seats accordingly it became tiring constantly ringing up.
All I would say (and some here have alluded to it already) is that we all need to put things into perspective sometimes. In the big scheme of things, of all the things that can happen in life, this is ultimately an annoyance and nothing more

This is coming from someone who has repeatedly been disappointed re seat changes and equipment changes over the years.
If you'll feel better about it, write an email to BA expressing specifically what you're frustrated about. Ultimately, you know as well as I do that there are equipment changes - fact of life. If you're unhappy re the communication of this information I think you will have to accept that MMB is a perfectly suitable way in which to communicate these changes (BA will state this) other than a generic email.
